Books

New to the Episcopal Church, a couple came on the Sunday morning when the Bishop was visiting. They struggled mightily to find the right page at the right time in the Hymnal, The Book of Common Prayer, another hymnal, and a service bulletin. As they took their leave at the end of the service, they spoke with the Bishop. He welcomed them warmly and a conversation ensued about how to juggle all those books. The Bishop listened carefully. He told them that the books get easier with time, but that it’s OK to “Just let the service wash over you.”
