Thank You

Betty is a kind soul, a devoted mother, wife, and friend to many. She is, by her own proclamation, “decidedly not religious.” She attends services, Baptist, Buddhist, Evangelical, Episcopal, but Betty remains a committed agnostic. She speaks words of gratitude into the air … a quiet “Thank you!” … a joyful “I am grateful!” To whom? To which God? I ask her. She answers, “I am grateful in my heart for my life and for all that is in it. I don’t thank any one God. I simply say ‘Thank you.’ My words are heard and I am the better for it.”
