Church of the Epiphany, Euclid sponsored a “Guns to Gardens Buyback” last Saturday. Gift cards were exchanged for all manner of unwanted firearms. Cars pulled up, we unloaded guns, police officers checked serial numbers, volunteers cut the guns into pieces … a good day … folks glad to be rid of guns they did not want. This was followed by a well-attended community service … prayers, words from activists and community leaders … and singing! All during this service, the sound of hammer and anvil from just outside the red doors as our priest Rosalind and her forge worked firearms into garden tools.
