Bread
Jesus entered a courtyard where a baker plied his trade. Jesus asked, “What bread is this?” The baker, slow to share, said, “It is my bread,” then broke a bit from a loaf and gave it to Jesus who thanked both the baker and God. The bit of bread was shared by all and talk turned to the good fortune by which bread and fellowship come to us, bread for our good use, and fellowship that we might love and care for one another. As Jesus and his followers took their leave, the baker gave them bread for their travels.
